Desert Love

Along the dunes I journeyed
The trillion grains of sand
My soul was sure but the beating sun
yielded no recess
Walking and walking to catch up to the
setting orange
Where is my love?
There I asked the valleys of sand
and they said nothing

I asked the gusts of wind where she was
and they said the same

I am walking now through the sand

The winds are high and violent
